"This graphic artwork is dedicated to shopping local. During the pandemic small businesses, especially in a small town like Woodford county, struggled significantly to stay running. This piece is called “The Farmer’s Union Merchants” and showcases the three businesses that are a part of the big brick building on N Main St, Versailles. Spark Community Café, Marketplace on Main, and Quality Feeds all made it through the pandemic and continue to provide for the consumers of Woodford County. I think it’s important to showcase the unity and passion that small businesses hold and how dedicated they are to their local community."

"In all honesty, my work is dedicated to no one. I guess I make art for myself but it isn’t anything special or particularly inspired. It’s like exercising but you’re trying new ideas each time. With that said, my work is dedicated to that pursuit. Since I will never reach the end of that pursuit, or in other words “perfection”, then I’m free to grow as an artist however I choose. It’s a lesson I’ve learned during this pandemic. It’s often difficult to be inspired when the world is crumbling around you and the only word that comes to mind is, “Isolation.” But, I learned that my time alone was time spent learning a new skill. It was that lesson alone that kept me feeling resolute during the pandemic."
